LayerFilter: FilmV2 Node Documentation
Overview
The LayerFilter: FilmV2 node provides a series of image enhancement and transformation capabilities designed to simulate a stylistic film look. It is part of the ComfyUI plugin, which allows for complex image processing and enhancement workflows. The node applies effects such as saturation adjustment, vignette, grain addition, and blur to create an aesthetically pleasing, film-like appearance to digital images.
Functionality
- Saturation Adjustment: Modifies the vibrancy of colors in the image.
- Vignette Effect: Darkens the corners of the image relative to its center to draw attention to the center of the image.
- Grain Addition: Adds a grain effect, similar to film, which can be tuned in various ways for desired intensity and texture.
- Blur Effects: Introduces blur, with capabilities such as radial or depth-based blur, to simulate focus and depth of field effects.
Inputs
The LayerFilter: FilmV2 node accepts the following inputs:
- Image(s): The primary input which takes one or more images that will undergo the film transformation processes.
- Center X and Y: Coordinates to define the center point for radial blur and vignette effects. These are floating-point values ranging from 0 to 1.
- Saturation: Adjusts the intensity of colors in the image. This is a floating-point value preset to 1 by default but can range from 0.01 to 3.
- Vignette Intensity: Controls the strength of the vignette effect, ranging from 0 to 1.
- Grain Method: Chooses between different grain addition methods, currently "fastgrain" and "filmgrainer".
- Grain Power, Scale, and Saturation: Set the intensity, size, and saturation level of the grains added to the image.
- Filmgrainer Shadows and Highs: Specifically fine-tunes the shadow and highlight grain details in the "filmgrainer" method.
- Blur Strength: Determines the extent of the blur effect, with an integer range from 0 to 256.
- Blur Focus Spread: Dictates the spread of the blur focus effect, from 0.1 to 8.
- Focal Depth: Sets the level of deep focus for depth-based blur effects between 0 and 1.
- Depth Map (Optional): Provides a depth map image for more nuanced depth-based blur effects.
Outputs
- Processed Image: The node outputs an image that has been processed with the specified film-like effects, ready for further use or final rendering in your workflow.
Usage in ComfyUI Workflows
The LayerFilter: FilmV2 node can be included in a ComfyUI workflow where you want to add a classic or cinematic film aesthetic to images. It's particularly useful in workflows involving:
- Artistic rendering where a film-like quality is desired.
- Photography workflows simulating classic film grain and vignette effects.
- Applications requiring depth of field and focus effects to highlight certain portions of an image.
This node can be effectively combined with other image processing nodes in ComfyUI to refine and perfect the overall style and look of your projects.
Special Features and Considerations
- Customization: Each effect offers multiple parameters for detailed customization, allowing you to tweak the final output to your exact needs.
- Versatility: The ability to switch between different grain methods enables a wider range of stylistic applications.
- Performance: Handles multiple images at once, enabling batch processing capabilities for efficiency in larger workflows.
- Integration: Designed specifically to operate within the ComfyUI system, making it a seamless addition to existing workflows.
By utilizing the LayerFilter: FilmV2 node, users can attain a classic film-like look, enhancing their images with a distinct artistic style.
